Murder Riddle – Press Play
Janice called 911 to report she just heard a gunshot from her neighbor Jerry’s house
When the crime scene investigators arrive, they found Jerry dead at his desk, slumped down with a gun in his hand and a bullet hole in his head. On the desk was a tape recorder.
A detective picked up the tape recorder, pressed the play button and heard a man’s voice say, “I am sick of my life. I have no purpose to live. Goodbye cruel world…..” and then a gunshot.
The investigator immediately said, “We have a homicide!”
How did the detective know it was a murder and not a suicide?

“A detective picked up the tape recorder, pressed the play button….”
Need I say more.
The tape recorder was on the desk if he didn’t finish his sentance and he shot himself the tape recorder will be on the floor or in his hand.
I think boat is on the right track….but I don’t know if he really has the answer. Could you tell us more about your theory? Or would anyone like to add to his train of thought?
A tape recorder requires turning off AND rewinding
. Therefore, someone must of done that. Homicide
If you record something on a tape recorder, don’t you have to rewind before you play the last recorded message?
Congratualtions Darth! You solved the riddle! We will be posting another murder riddle soon so stay tuned.
Let’s see, does the detective know it was a murder because if the bullet went into his head and he died, the tape recorder would still be on and the detective wouldnt need to pres play?
